Inspire Medical – Volunteer Abroad with Islamic Relief Canada
Empowering Healthcare Professionals to make a Global Impact
Islamic Relief Canada’s Inspire Medical Program recruits Canadian healthcare specialists for short-term humanitarian medical missions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These missions deliver specialized medical services, provide training and capacity building for local professionals, and raise awareness to mobilize resources for critical health needs.
Inspire Medical, is an extension of our Inspire Volunteer Abroad Program but designed specifically for physicians, medical students, and healthcare professionals committed to making a global impact. This initiative offers unique opportunities for these groups of medical professionals to extend their expertise and compassion beyond their usual practice settings, directly contributing to underserved communities around the world.

Through Inspire Medical, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Provide hands-on healthcare to underserved communities
- Participate in educational exchanges and skill-building workshops
- Collaborate on projects that improve long-term health outcomes in marginalized regions
This is your chance to expand your professional expertise, champion global health equity, and change lives in places where your skills are needed most.
Our Current Work: Restoring Sight, Restoring Lives
Right now, Inspire Medical is focused on our Gift of Sight Campaign, delivering free cataract and other eye related surgeries, community eye health education, and medical supplies to those who need them most.
Even though cataract surgeries are our current focus, we welcome applications from healthcare specialists in all fields for future Inspire Medical missions.
