Inspire Reflections

Over the past six years, we've guided 426 changemaker participants to nine different countries to make a difference! From Bosnia and Malaysia to South Africa, each changemaker has grown exponentially through our Inspire trips and shared their impact and aspirations for a better future.

Sakina Carbide

Volunteer from Inspire Pakistan

“There was a young girl by the name of Hifsa who was sensory challenged. Her mother said that she never smiled and she never engaged with anyone. During a game, I had her co-lead with me, and she was jumping, laughing, and just enjoying the moment. I later learned that her mother said that she was a different person, a happy and engaging child, after the camp. This showed me that our job as volunteers was accomplished: we had inspired her.”

Layla Charanek

Volunteer from Inspire Indonesia

“Despite enduring unimaginable hardships and persecution, their resilience and hope for a better future were truly remarkable. Interacting with the people of Lombok and hearing their aspirations reinforced the importance of supporting their cause and advocating for their rights.”

Salman Rasheed

Volunteer from Inspire Malaysia

“The trip improved my interpersonal and communication skills. Prior to the trip, I didn’t know any of the other volunteers. I was brought out of my comfort zone to build relationships and collaborate with the team throughout the week. It also improved my ability to act as a leader through working with the RISE Malaysia students. It challenged my ability to problem solve, make decisions, and adapt on the fly.”

Emina Bektic

Volunteer from Inspire Bosnia

“I genuinely came back a different and better person from this trip. I came into the trip nervous and doing something outside of my comfort zone, but I am so happy I went. I learned so much about myself and the world around me. I developed a sense of self-awareness, global awareness, gratefulness, hard work ethic, and a deeper sense of spiritual healing.”
